     Dr. Asena Akcasoy

    GENERAL, FAMILY AND COSMETIC DENTIST

My journey in dentistry started in 2010 when I started studying at Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry. Over my academic years, I gained hands-on clinical experience to become a skilled dentist who provides patient-focused care.   In 2015, I moved to Toronto. Immediately I started the equivalency process to become a practicing dentist in Ontario. After completing the exams successfully and receiving my license I proceeded  to take many continuing education courses to update my knowledge on new techniques and materials.   Since I was a child, I have always loved helping people and putting a smile on their face. While I was deciding what my career would be, it was important to me to combine, giving care to people in need, finding solutions for their problems and my passion for art. For me Dentistry is a perfect combination of art and medicine.   Since the first day I started my journey in dentistry, I have enjoyed every second and over the course of the past 9 years, dentistry turned in to my favorite hobby. I believe even with a smallest smile we can brighten people’s day and make a huge difference in their lives. I am so glad that… View Full Profile

     Dr Kevin Lim

    GENERAL, FAMILY AND COSMETIC DENTIST

I was born & raised in Toronto, where I was fortunate to be exposed to dentistry at a young age; I witnessed the growth of my granduncle’s dental practice, which was predicated upon hard-work, perseverance, and development of trust among his patients. Although he has now passed on, he had a significant influence on my decision to pursue a career in dentistry, where I’d be able to positively impact patients’ lives while building friendly relationships. Following my undergraduate education at Western University, I decided to return home to complete my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Toronto. I’ve always been committed to providing patient-centered care while recommending the most up-to-date evidence-based treatment. Not only have I dedicated my time to patients here in the GTA, but I’ve also traveled to communities in Cambodia, Peru, and Panama, where I volunteered to provide dental services to children & adults who lack access to dental care. To serve you better, I’m continuously improving myself as a dentist through unique clinical experiences and continuing education courses. When not in the dental clinic, you can find me staying active in the gym, participating in sports, and exploring new hiking trails. I’m… View Full Profile

    GENERAL FAMILY AND COSMETIC DENTIST

I was born in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to Canada at the age of 4 to the Mississauga area where I still currently live and call home. During my youth, I had the privilege of observing my general dentist, and learned how dentistry can have positive, transformative impacts on people’s lives through improvements in appearance, function, confidence and overall oral health. The combination of art, science and medicine to help people and build lifelong relationships is truly a privilege.   I attended McMaster University in Hamilton, where I earned my Honours Bachelor of Science degree. Afterwards, I attended the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry to earn my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Upon graduating, I decided to practice in underserved communities in rural, Northern Ontario, where I gained valuable hands-on clinical experience and provided care to people of all ages. I am very grateful at the present time to have the opportunity to return to the GTA to live and work.   As a clinician, I want to provide the most current, evidence based treatments that focuses on a comprehensive, patient centered approach that fits each individual’s oral health goals. Office Manger

I started my career in the dental field at the age of 16, some 40 years ago. Learning the administrative part of the dental office was very quick. Even at that young age I knew I  needed to be challenged, I needed to learn,  and grow and I wanted to help people.  I wanted to make a difference in patients lives. At that time I decided to pursue my Dental Assisting Career. I graduated from the Dental Assisting Level I program of George Brown College  in 1980.  Since then I have taken the roles of Administrator, Dental Assistant, Supervisor, Office Manager, Consultant and even CEO of a multi dental office business. I have been fortunate and have worked  with many wonderful dentists over the past forty years that have provided me with the knowledge necessary to assist our patients in making educated decisions about their oral health. I have been able to assist and guide my team to provide exceptional customer service to all our patients and I have been instrumental in the creation of systems to ensure quality care, efficiency and professionalism; all with customer service excellence. I was born and raised in Toronto. From early childhood I always enjoyed helping people and making them smile. Growing up I always thought about what career I could do to continue helping people smile. After visiting the dentist throughout my childhood and seeing a difference in how I felt, I decided that a career in Dental Hygiene was meant for me. In 2015 I enrolled in the dental hygiene program at Cambrian College and began my journey. Over my academic years I gained a lot of clinical experience and did a lot of dental work in the community, such as providing dental hygiene care at the local long term care clinic and the Sudbury Samaritan Center. I also visited elementary schools in the city to educate children and families regarding their oral hygiene, which grew my passion even more.   As a hygienist at Alderwood Family Dentistry I enjoy meeting new patients and continuing to make my patients smile. It brings a smile on my face knowing I made a difference in a person’s life during their visit.   In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my family, hiking and spending time traveling.   I am a… View Full Profile
