Technologies at Our Dental Clinic

At Alderwood Family Dentistry, we use digital technology to gain insight into your oral health, both above and below the gum line.

Because digital X-rays and scans can be displayed on monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you what's happening inside your mouth and explain your treatment options clearly. Dental technology gives us the tools to help make your dental treatments as convenient as possible.

We also incorporate tools like the SiroLaser for certain soft tissue procedures and oral cancer screenings as part of our approach to dental care.

Digital dental technology supports environmental responsibility by eliminating paper charts and traditional X-ray processing chemicals. Digital X-rays also use less radiation than traditional film X-rays, while our chartless system allows us to securely access and store your dental information.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays use digital sensors rather than traditional photographic film, generating highly detailed computer images of your teeth and surrounding structures. This technology helps your dentist see areas of your mouth that aren't visible to the naked eye, allowing for detailed diagnosis and treatment planning.

Oral Cancer Screening Device

The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps the dentist identify abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, including cancerous and precancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualization technology, screening can be performed in your dentist’s office during routine exams in about two minutes.

SiroLaser

SiroLaser provides an alternative method for dental procedures such as soft-tissue treatments, gingivectomies, implant procedures, and oral lesion management. This diode laser uses concentrated light energy that interacts with tissue at a cellular level for targeted treatment.
