What is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that functions like a natural tooth root, providing a stable, permanent foundation for replacing missing teeth.
Implants can replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or be used to support dentures.
Many people choose dental implants because they can help restore the ability to chew and speak more effectively, maintain the shape of the face and jaw, and prevent bone loss that can occur after tooth loss.
Dental implants may also improve your confidence by filling in gaps in your smile with artificial teeth that look natural and blend seamlessly.
Implant-supported tooth restorations are designed to look and function like natural teeth and should be cared for in the same way, with regular brushing, flossing, and dental visits to support long-term oral health.
Say Goodbye to Loose Dentures with All-on-4 Implants
Missing most or all of your teeth? All-on-4 dental implants offer a stable, long-lasting alternative to traditional dentures. This procedure uses just four strategically placed implants to support a full arch of replacement teeth, providing a secure, natural-feeling solution. Many patients enjoy their new smile the same day, with temporary teeth placed during the initial procedure.
The Dental Implant Process
The process for dental implants begins with X-rays to assess whether there is sufficient bone and gum tissue to sustain an implant.
Once confirmed, the implant is surgically placed into the jaw bone under local anesthetic and allowed to heal for three to six months, during which it integrates with the bone.
After healing, you’ll return to our office to complete the restoration. Depending on the implant type, an abutment (a connector piece that connects the restoration to the implant) will be placed to support the replacement tooth, and an impression of the area will be taken.
At the final appointment, your custom tooth replacement, such as a crown, bridge, or dentures, will be attached to the implant, restoring function and appearance.
